Well, where do I begin.
I actually started out as a nursing major.
After being in the middle of a nursing class my junior year of college and realizing I hate nursing (no disrespect to the nurses out there, you all are saints!), I sat my parents down and told them I was going to…
transfer (back) to the University of Kentucky
change my major to advertising
graduate on time
After thoroughly shocking my parents, I did do just that, and graduated with an Integrated Strategic Communications degree (long form for Advertising) from the University of Kentucky, on time, and magna cum laude.
Not to toot my horn but…toot toot.
I stumbled into social media because I needed an internship credit to graduate, and then quickly realized that not only did I like it, but I was good at it.
I grew the social department at my first job from 2 to 25+ clients, managed a small but mighty department, and, most importantly, I had fun doing it.
I went on to work at a larger agency where I was a digital strategist, and my shining light was that I led social strategy for Maker’s Mark. I rose their following 20K+ in 3 months on IG, help execute on a social partnership with Kitchen Aid and Bravo TV’s Top Chef, and a bunch of other crazy stuff.
Fast forward a few years, and in-between working for in-house and contract clients, I’ve worked on my side business this entire time. Working on small to large clients on my free time always just gave me a break from my 9-to-5 job, and it was just fun to work with them. After working for people for a few years, I realized that my true passion was working with people, not for them. That’s why I decided that I could do my side business full time…
and I haven’t looked back since.
In my spare time, I like to watch trashy reality TV shows (Bravo TV is the backbone of our nation), hang out with my fiancé Rudy, and cheer on my Kentucky Wildcats- Go Big Blue, baby!
